In 1932, Bimba established the first academy specialized in Capoeira, in the Old Device of You sprout, quarter where was born. At the time, already had developed his proper method. In 1937 were registered as professor of Physical Education and in 1939 he taught the “Regional one” in quarter or the CPOR (Center of Preparation of Officers of the Reserve). He inaugurated its Second academy in 1942. By efficiency, his method was concidered most practical and perfect, therefore exceeded borders and he was known worldwide. Many personalities of the life social politics and of the Bahia had beeen pupils of Master Bimba.

Through some fo them, Bimba took the “Capoeira Regional” until the Palace of the Government, at the time where general Juracy Magalh ães was Interventor. He gained respect and admiration of the maximum authority of the State and the opened way for a demostration for President of the Republic, Getúlio Vargas, in 1953. This presentation to Vargas was basic for evolution of the African culture in our country. Vargas legalized the Capoeira, recognizing that was a national fight Brazilian and later, he officialized practical though the ministry of the Education.

The social affirmation and the recognition of the cultural and sportive value of the Capoeira are, historically, on to the creative spirit and the administrative organization of Master Bimba.

He promoted wheels, presentations and courses that aimed at to awake, in each time more people, the interest for the practical of the Capoeira.

In the Center of Physical Culture Regional Capoeira of the Bahia, name of the Academy of Master Bimba, the thought Capoeira in, not only as a new style of playing, but as a new formula of realtin with the societu and pointing other functions with respect to its use, or either: to manage it as a craft, a profession.

Master Bimba inaugurated a new reality for the Capoeira. His academy functioned as a school: room of trainings, dressing room, equipament, banks and table. Moreover, he offered to his pupils a full mural of photographs and clippings of periodicals that they presented a description of Capoeira through the times. He was, also, rigorous in education and evaluation of the pupils. In the academy it had a school registration book, groups and schedules defined, you emend and bulletin boards.

Although not to have much domain on the written word, Bimba used method of sophisticated organization and management for the time.

He made contacts with tourism companies, with specific clauses that were rigorously fulfilled for the Master, mainly in the question of schedules. He produced documentation on his works, scripts of shows, ingressions and posters. Another concern of Master Bimba was the spreading at the time of the formations: each pupil was responsible for publication of the events in periodicals and, also, for sell of one determined number of ingressions. The Academy of Master Bimba was model for all the schools of Capoeira of time and today, although all modernity, still see traces clear of the administrative origin left for Bimba.

The Regional Capoeira, created in the decade of 30, caused a revolution in the practical one of the Capoeira, when Bimba, a deep expert of the Capoeira Angola, the primitive, opted to one disagreement that changed the routes of this Brazilian art. He took if for a closed enclosure, academy, that baptized of Center of Physic Culture and Regional Capoeira of the Bahia (1932); he created na education method, aming at to potimize and to speed the formation of the players of Capoeira athlete, searching with this, beyond the recognition of education and the practical one the fight slaves for all the society, the possibility to take if for schools, clubs, condominiums and university.

In 1973 Master Bimba changed himself for Goiânia, where he died, one year later, one victim cerebral spill.
